"What kind of inspiration?"

"I'm illustrating a book. The main character is a 'celebrated woman' in the town. And this woman seemed to fit that description to me."

"I'm learning to deal with negative feelings, like envy."

"What are you envious of?"

"Normal stuff. Women with more successful careers, things like that. I'm finding that if you try to resist your envy, it sticks around. But if you accept it as natural, and don't judge yourself, it will pass, like a cloud.

"I write in my journal everyday."
"Why's that?"
"So much happens in life, I think it's good to live it again and get some distance from it. Or else everything is in a muddle, like on a merry-go-round."

"The reward of painting for me is in the learning. That after all these millions of studies of flowers, trees, and lakes, I can finally pull the rabbit out of the hat."

♡ Fab Stain Jessi Jae Joplin Named SWAYMate of the Month ♡

It is such an honor to announce that one of my most favorite brands ever, SwayChic, has named me this month's SWAYMate!! Each month, they choose a new person who they think represents their brand in an awesome way (previous months have included the likes of RobynTheBank and Jean Greige)...so I was so happy and excited to be included amongst such an inspiring, stylish group of people! Make sure to WATCH the video below I filmed while visiting their super dope showroom!  I got a chance to try on some of their fabulous clothing and answer a few fun questions. I love meeting new interesting people, especially someone like Lucy.

We here at The Fabulous Stains are utterly in love with Gerlan Jeans. And their eccentric Fall/Winter 2013 collection is simply incredible. We can't get enough of the collection’s throwback VOGUE-esque attitude...it's simply amazing. It also features original illustrated knits from Gerlan Jeans x Degen. LOVE IT!
